Riot Control Police (RCP) is a team of specially trained Police officers and men. This specialized force would be capable of handling Law & Order situations in a professional way and dealing with a riotous situation expertly, which is an asset to the Mumbai Police. 

RCP consists of young, tough and trained officers and men capable of working in adverse situations. They have been trained in mob dispersal tactics and are provided with suitable equipment for their operations. They have also been trained in First-Aid. 

In order to provide a suitable counter-action to any insurgency, one platoon from each company of RCP is imparted training in Anti-insurgency tactics and they have been developed as "Quick Reaction Teams" (QRT).
