Anti Narcotics Cell Branch initiates action against persons who manufacture, transport, possesses, sale narcotics drugs, psychotropic substance like Heroin, Morphine, Ganja, Charas, Hashish oil, Cocaine, Mephedrone, LSD, Ketamine, Amphetamine and others substances under NDPS Act 1985.

- ANC Branch was started in the year 1989 .
- Submit report to Govt. for getting approval of detention orders.
- First head of this branch was DCP Shri R.R. Sur.
Roles Responsibility of officer heading branch/office
- To control supply of Narcotics drugs in city and to tress origin of drugs.
- To reduce demand by conducting drug awareness' programs.
- To increase conviction rate.
- To dispose seized drugs as per provision of NDPS Act 1985.
- To prepare the dossiers of arrested and suspected persons.
- Training for the officers about provisions of NDPS. Act 1985.
Achievements
- After two decades in 2017 ANC busted two MD supply factories.
- From 2017 ANC registered 95% commercial quantity cases.
- Conviction rate from 2017 has increased from 5% to 25%.
- First time, Barcode software and computer system is installed in storage facility at ANC .
- Financial Investigation under section 68 NDPS Act.
- From 2017 ANC started documentation and preparation of dossiers for more than 750 arrested persons.
